Medical Staff

Dr. Carl J. Milks, MD FACAAI, Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Milks received degrees in Sociology and Medicine from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,MI. Pediatric Internship and Residency were completed at Tulane University's division of Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Dr.Milks served two years in the National Health Service Corps in rural western Pennsylvania before moving to Honesdale in 1980, where he practiced as a pediatrician until 2003. In 1996, Dr. Milks attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ, for a Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, where he also served a term as Chief Resident. Since 1980 he has been in private practice in Honesdale and Clarks Summit. Dr. Milks has served as Vice President and President of the Medical Staff at Honesdale's Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Recently Dr. Milks has been invited to be a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). In addition he was asked to be on the faculty of the Medical Collee of the Commonwealth at the main campus in Scranton.

Dr. Carl Milks and his wife Marianne Kuiper Milks will be married 40 years this year. They have raised four wonderful children, hosted eleven exchange students and have (an adopted) family in Haiti. He is active in the Nordic and Alpine ski patrols, has a large garden and orchard, enjoys photography, woodcarving and constructing model sailing ships, and fishes and hunts when he can.

Fran Van Buskirk, RN

Fran's work experience spans a period of over forty years. She was educated here at Scranton's Community Medical Center School of Nursing. Her work has taken her to various locations, including Texas, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia and finally, back here in Pennsylvania. She has been with Dr. Milks since he opened his present practice.

Fran is the mother of three children, grandmother to nine and great-grandmother to one. Fran's interests include traveling, hiking, camping and chair caning.

Cindy Perry, LPN

Cindy attended Marywood College and went back to school for her nursing degree at Career Technology Center in Scranton. She has and continues to work in the Scranton area.

Cindy has five children, which are her main interest and keep her busy outside of work.

Tina Gelatt

Tina is our billing/office manager. She graduated from Lackawanna Commmunity College with a Medical Secretary Degree.  She has worked for lawyers, hospitals, home health and doctor's offices.  She has been with Dr. Milks since 2006.

Tina lives in Honesdale with her husband Dave.  She has 5 children and 4 grandchildren.  Her hobbies are camping, horseback riding, skiing, kayaking and basically anything outdoors.  She also has a love for crafts of all kinds and spending time with her family.
